Aznoni must read for any aspiring magician IMO. Lots and Lots of exposition and little by way of dialogue, so it will not be the sort of book that modern genre readers will, most likely, enjoy. What Bulwer-Lytton has produced is a turgid gothic romance popular during the period. This book is beautiful. He finally marries Viola and they have a child. He cannot resist the lure of idle curiosity or the temptations of the flesh – tests zanonii have been arranged by Mejnour.
